Great hardtop hoistThe hoist worked exactly as described and planned. I only wish my garage ceiling was taller, it is only 8ft.

The easy to install depends on what you are using it forThis compact hoist works just like it should. As you can see I built a frame to attach the hoist to. I used it to haul buckets of tar and rolled roofing up a gangway to the roof of my building. Buckets weighed 60lbs x8 of them. The rolled roofing weighed 80lbs x 30 0f those. The hoist works like a champ. I would recommend this item.

Lifts everything in my garage easily. Plan 50-100% more money for mounting, straps/nets/hardware.I built a 4x8 hanging shelf in my garage for mower/snow blower, wheelbarrow, pressure washer, tubs of stuff I use occasionally/seasonally. This hoist was able to lift each easily; heaviest item was 80 lbs. (No problem lifting my 175 lb. son, either.) Also really handy to lift stuff in/out of the bed of my pickup.NOTE: This hoist has a VERY short duty cycle, but it was never an issue with my occasional needs. The straps that come with it have very limited utility. I ended up buying a couple of 6 ft. x 1 in. straps (Keeper on AMZN), a 42x50 strap cargo net (Mopham on AMZN), and a number of 3/8 inch carabiners. Finally, the safety hooks provided (both single line and pulley for double line) are REALLY small. You will only be able to get one or two carabiners through it -- maybe one more if you like those metal twisty puzzles. A carabiner is a MUST with straps.I mounted a 6 ft. piece of UniStrut (same as SuperStrut) from Home Depot (best price by far) with two, 5 x 3/8 lag screws and 5 washers per screw (for 1/2 inch clearance) into 12 inch floor/ceiling joists OC. Hoist can slide the length of the strut with some encouragement, NEVER UNDER LOAD. Easily able to hold north of 200 lbs. net. You will lose roughly 16 inch of headspace with the strut, hoist and hook; more with straps and other hardware.HAPPY HOISTING!

Works well within the intended parameters.This hoist was installed as an attic hoist, and it serves that function very well. I rigged the hoist to hook the totes that we use for storage, and it smoothly lifts them into and out of the attic. No more lifting the totes up a ladder. As the pictures show, the hooks are hung by parachute cord from a wood bar that then attaches to the hoist hook. Should have installed this years ago.The only downside is the short electrical cord between the hoist and the controller. I wanted the option to control the hoist from the floor of my garage, and this required the use of a proper 4-wire insulated cord (I purchased the cord from an electrical supply store). The existing control cord was replaced with 16 feet of purchased cord, and one cord end was mated at the hoist and one end mated at the controller. I can now also stand on the floor and lift small appliances onto a work table. Handy.If you intend to do this adaptation, be aware that it likely will void your warranty, and you should be somewhat handy with electricians tools such as strippers, cutters, and needle-nosed pliers. The connections at the hoist are a bit tight. Doable, but tight. The product should come with a longer cord.

One man jobThis makes it so much easier to remove the top off of the Jeep!

Jon boat hoisted in my garage. Love it.Looking for a way to store my son��s jon boat and equipment (not battery) above my wife��s SUV. Reinforced the attic w 2x2x6s that were screwed together and screwed to house frame support 2x10s all w 3�� screws. 2�� strut mounted w 8x 3�� screws and heavy duty ��washers�� made for those struts. The strut is screwed into the new 4x6 beam and the 2x10 beams on either side. Used the 2x4s on the sides to ensure the 12�� straps don��t slide to the middle and teeter totter to one side. Currently using 3�� tow chains on either side but am likely going to buy shorter chains bc as you can see, I have to wrap them several times to get them even and the boat high enough. It gets the job done and boat out of the way. He has to lower it onto his bed rails and then turn it to lay vertically in his truck bed. It was too long between the garage door opener and my gun safe to mount long ways. Hope this helps some of you bc I had lots of trouble finding anything like this. (Updated: I have since cut 1' off all 4 edges of my 2x4s AND cut the chains to exact length so they aren't wrapped around a half dozen times.). This is now about 6'6" off the ground, high enough to walk under, not hit your head, and overall better solution.

good quality at a fair price.Used this hoist for lifting light weight items less then (100 Lbs. ) in my garage shop. Installed trolly track for some travel within 6' to hoist plywood sheets onto my table saw. Works very well, and is a very nice product.

Works like it's supposed to!The unit is perfect for me. Mounted above attic ladder to haul heavy or awkward items up to attic. Engineered it to have wheels in a unistrut channel. I can hoist items to the attic then push the hoist/item to a landing area. Works perfectly. I did lengthen the tetheredremote control. Made it 15 feet long.

Works greatInstalled it in my attic along with a trolley rail to hoist up items into my attic. Works great. No need to do anymore heavy awkward lifting.

Great little winch for hoisting shinglesMounted this at the top of my homemade scaffold to bring up shingles. At 70 lbs a bundle, this is an ideal task for this size winch. This was my only intended use and it has worked perfectly.

Nice and easy to set upI install the hoist on the carport 2��x12�� ceiling joists using a 7/8�� unistrut attached with four 5�� lag bolt.I will use the hoist to change blades on my mowers and more.
